Live Love Bark Rescue is so thrilled to be sponsoring Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center's second annual Holiday Toy Drive! We hang a holiday stocking on each cage of every adoptable animal. Then between 11 am and 3 pm you come down with your friends and family and donate toys, treats, collars, leashes and stuff the stockings! Last year's event raised enough toys to last the whole year long! This year we hope to do the same if not more! (Please NO raw-hides!) We will also have a basket raffle, as well as dog accessories and merch for sale, perfect for the holidays! Don't forget to stuff your own pet's stockings! Adoption Corner!

Introducing Day & Licorice!

Day, case # 1591 is a lovely white and dilute brindle Amstaff mix. She is about 3+years old, and is our longest term resident at this time. Poor Day was abandoned in a home with one other dog well over 2 years ago when she was just an older puppy, and through no fault of her own was constantly overlooked by adopters. She does adore toys and enjoys playing with most other dogs. We've begun to take her to adoption events lately and find that Day really likes people, and is surprisingly good with kids. She has waited patiently for a family and her special person(s), please don't make her wait any longer.

Licorice, Case # 2195, is a sleek, shiny 2 year old black domestic short hair. This little beauty came in as a stray in late August 2013 when a good Samaritan brought her in with two older kittens that were still nursing. She has been spayed, brought up to date on all, and her kittens were long since adopted. Licorice is very friendly, and outgoing. She does love to play and get brushed; she even seems comfortable with children so she might be a good candidate for adoption into a home with children, a first time cat guardian, or almost anyone. The only thing she does not like (as discovered at an adoption event), is traveling in a car to a busy location!
